FAMILY TREE
Why using it?
The aim is to give value to the heritage received from the ancestors, to practice ability to recognize own skills and values, and to be able to understand the differences between those two terms and their meaning in a future community development.
What is it?
It is a family tree where each participant indicates values and skills inherited from his/her ancestors.
Steps
• Start with a discussion on the differences between skills and values.
• Let each participant identifies his/her skills and values.
• Let them define which skills and values have received from the ancestors.
• Ask to draw their family tree attaching skills and values to each of the family member.
• Let them present to the other participants.
• Reflection on the importance and the meaning of cultural heritage.
• Reflection on the meaning of family learning process.
Tips for the facilitator:
Explain the difference between skills and values.
Materials needed:
Paper, markers, post-it.
